Voisins

Voisins Department Store called upon our creatives to produce a vibrant video advert, demonstrating their new loyalty scheme app, Voisins Rewards. Our team sprung into action! We formed two unique and impactful video narratives, directly addressing Voisins' target market, with a view to creating product desirability and increasing exposure of the Voisins Rewards app.

The aim of the app was to improve communication between Voisins and it’s customers, while providing them with added value through rewards and exclusive offers. We worked closely with Voisins to establish their target audience and how we could use the right mix of social, digital and print media, to best promote the app’s benefits and generate sign ups. After studying loyalty programs with more abstract or exclusive titles, we settled on Voisins Rewards, as a simple, welcoming, and identifiable name.

It was important for Voisins Rewards to be a recognisable extension of Voisins’ existing brand and so our creative team based its logo on the handwriting of Voisins’ founder, Francis Voisin, To promote the launch of Voisins Rewards, we created huge instore graphics, posters, lift wraps, branded flyers, a Jersey Evening Post campaign and window decals. These will guide people’s shopping experience, and should boost engagement with the app throughout November and Christmas.

The video ad we created was great fun to make and a true collaborative effort. The concept, location planning, storyboarding, and casting, was all done in-house by our team. Film maker, Callum Thorne, did a fantastic job of realising our vision by shooting and editing the video, and his experience was extremely useful when managing the ClearCast process in order to get the ad playing on ITV. We also worked with PTF Motion, to add in some simple animations to make it really pop!

The ad’s narratives were designed to highlight the versatility of Voisins’ departments and its general appeal across demographics. Simply, the store has something for everyone, and shopping with Voisins Rewards provides even more value to the experience. We made casting choices to reflect Voisin’s positive and recognisable local presence. The young couple were played by Jersey Reds Women’s, Taye Boakye-Yiadom, and musician and model, Chaz Chapman, who are familiar faces from the Jersey community. Keeping with the local theme, we even ended up licensing one of Chaz’s tracks to use as a musical backdrop!

Our digital marketing campaign consisted of a mix of newsletters, Google Display ads, and social media marketing. Our referral competition was particularly successful, reaching over 12,000 people, and encouraging downloads of the app. The campaign was hugely successful, and helped us to hit 20% of our annual target within the first week of the campaign! We wanted the app to be accessible to everyone, so we designed a brand new section of Voisin’s website and an animated video, which broke down the app’s functions into bite-size chunks for the less-digitally savvy users.
