Building a brand for a British Coastal Champion.

Laima Pacekajute, founder of IRow, approached Snap with one main goal: to inject more colour, personality and self-expression into women’s rowing. She shared what IRow means to her and how she created the brand as a form of self-expression for women in a sport that has long felt closed off and lacking character. The brand needed to feel adventurous, empowering and eye-catching, working in harmony with the apparel’s bold colours and fabric choices.

Alongside developing the brand, Laima needed a website that could serve as the central hub for her business, acting as both a brand experience and a seamless point of sale for her new apparel range. The site needed to deliver an intuitive shopping experience while fully reflecting her vision and everything IRow stands for.

We want to stand out, not blend in.

Laima came to us with a name, logo and clear vision. Our initial strategy session quickly established IRow’s brand foundations, defining its purpose, mission and positioning within the market. The objective was to redefine how sea rowing is perceived as a sport, especially to women, while introducing a new messaging framework centred around empowerment, individuality, adventure and self-expression.

It quickly became clear that most brands in this space played it safe, relying on muted, dark colour palettes that lacked individuality. Combined with overly corporate imagery and a highly competitive tone of voice, the sport often felt inaccessible, uninviting and stripped of personal expression.

A lifestyle-first approach.

The process began with presenting Laima with a moodboard that captured our vision for how the brand should show up. We wanted to retain a sense of femininity while still reflecting adventure, resilience and the rawness of the outdoors. The new colour palette draws heavily from coastal life, blending ocean blues and teals with sunset hues and sandy neutrals. The typeface came next, landing on Neuzon for its textured, gritty feel: a choice that helped reinforce the brand’s new strapline, ‘wear your wild side’.

Giving the brand a voice.

Alongside the visual identity, we developed a marketing messaging framework designed to mirror the brand’s adventurous aesthetic and reinforce its positioning at every touchpoint. The messaging focused heavily on individuality, empowerment and freedom of expression, introducing language that felt motivating, inclusive and lifestyle-led rather than overly competitive or corporate. This helped establish a consistent brand voice that echoed IRow’s core values across the website, product messaging, social content and future campaigns.

A user-first experience.

For the website, Laima expressed interest in using Shopify, a leading e-commerce platform that would allow her to easily upload stock, manage orders and scale alongside IRow’s future growth. We carried the new primary colour palette across the site, pairing it with inspiring key messaging such as ‘row your own way’ and ‘power in every stroke’. Each aspect of the site was designed with the customer in mind, creating an intuitive shopping journey through informative product pages and a streamlined checkout experience.

To complete the project, we created branded newsletter and Canva templates for Laima to use moving forward, ensuring every touchpoint carried IRow’s signature logo, colour palette and refreshed identity.

The Result:
A Brand that knows exactly who they are.

Our aim was to provide Laima with all the tools she needed to successfully launch IRow, starting with a strong brand position and an online store that truly reflected both her story as a rower and the lifestyle the brand represents. At the heart of the project was the creation of a bold visual identity and empowering messaging framework designed to challenge the conventions of traditional rowing culture and connect with a new generation of female athletes.

Before the site went live, Laima had the opportunity to share it with friends and family for honest feedback, allowing us to refine the experience, answer questions and ensure the customer journey remained as intuitive and seamless as possible. The Shopify build was designed to balance striking visuals with usability, making it easy for customers to discover products, connect with the brand story and purchase confidently.

The final stage of our support was a one-to-one handover session, giving Laima a guided tour of the backend so she could confidently manage the site herself. This included updating imagery and copy, uploading new products, managing stock and keeping track of customer orders as the brand continues to grow.

IRow now has an in-depth brand guideline that defines how the brand communicates, how it visually presents itself and how it connects with its audience across every touchpoint. Combined with custom Canva and newsletter templates, Laima now has the tools to confidently create consistent, on-brand content moving forward.

IRow’s identity now truly reflects everything it set out to be: a bold, lifestyle-led brand born from coastal culture that challenges elitism within the sport and gives female rowers sportswear that finally reflects who they are.
