SnapSketch: A Canvas for Team Building and Creativity

Earlier this month, the Snap team embarked on an artistic adventure at Jaro Art Gallery – team life drawing.

We’re not just tech and marketing gurus; we’re creatives at heart so the team jumped at the chance to flex our creative muscles. Life drawing, a world away from our daily digital comfort zone, presented an exciting journey into the arts and the opportunity to learn something new together. The challenge? Team-based drawing sessions with our colleagues. It was time to sketch out our interpretations of the human form.

Our host, Jasmine from Jaro, navigated us through this new terrain, not just as participants but as a team. Needless to say, things got a little competitive – who was going to take the crown as best Snap sketcher?

There’s something magical about using a pencil instead of a smartphone or laptop, about observing life’s raw beauty through our own eyes rather than a screen.

This event wasn’t just about drawing; it was about viewing problems from a fresh perspective, nurturing creativity, and appreciating the diversity of thought and style.

In a world where team building often falls into predictable patterns, SnapSketch was a reminder of the power of stepping out of our comfort zones. The skills honed here – observation, patience, and open-mindedness – are not just artistic virtues but business essentials. Plus it was great fun to see the individual flair of each team member.

As we wrapped up, with some impressive and some comically ambitious sketches, the consensus was clear: we had uncovered not just a new skill but a newfound appreciation for each other and the art of life drawing. It’s much harder than it looks!

So, here’s to more unconventional team building, to more laughter and learning, and to a culture that values these as cornerstones of success. At Snap, our canvas is ever-evolving, and this is just the beginning.
