Kabannas, a renowned hotel chain known for its distinctive approach to affordable luxury, had previously entrusted us with curating the brand identity for their exclusive bar, Kabin. Our work on Kabin’s branding was a resounding success, transforming it into a standout feature within their hotels and offering guests a unique yet accessible experience.

Building on this success, Kabannas approached us once again, this time with a new challenge: to create a branded beer that would be sold exclusively in the Kabin bars.

The beer needed to reflect Kabannas’ atmosphere of affordable luxury and the laid-back, social vibe of Kabin, while also standing out as a unique and memorable offering within the bar’s concept. With this clear vision in mind, we were excited to help bring Kabin’s new in-house beer brand to life, catering to both the social and budget-conscious aspects of their clientele.

Challenge

Compadre Beer was to be a sub-brand of Kabin, the exclusive yet affordable bar within Kabannas’ hotels. Kabin had already established a welcoming atmosphere with a focus on providing an accessible, social environment for guests to relax and enjoy themselves. The challenge was to create a beer that would complement this atmosphere while also aligning with the broader Kabannas brand.

While Kabin had successfully captured the attention of guests seeking both affordable luxury and a vibrant social experience, the new beer needed to embody these values. It had to feel inclusive and approachable, a drink for guests to enjoy with friends, whether unwinding after a long day of business or during a casual evening out. In a competitive market, Compadre needed to not only stand out but do so in a way that felt natural and connected to the social fabric of Kabin.

Concept and Naming Development

To meet this challenge, we began by developing a concept that would resonate with the social and affordable aspects of Kabin while still maintaining a unique identity for Compadre Beer. The process started with brainstorming and curating potential names, exploring options like Mucho Gusto and Coddiwomple before landing on the final choice: Compadre

The name Compadre—meaning “friend” or “buddy” in Spanish—perfectly captured the social essence we aimed to evoke. It was both inclusive and approachable, aligning seamlessly with Kabin’s mission to foster connections in a relaxed environment.

Concept to Design

With the name in place, we turned our attention to design. The challenge was to develop branding that aligned with the laid-back yet affordable luxury of Kabin, while still standing out on the bar shelf. We worked on several design concepts, balancing vibrant and inviting elements with Kabannas’ established aesthetic. The result was a fresh and bold design that felt instantly welcoming, perfect for a beer made to be shared with friends in a lively, social setting.

We delivered a bold yet approachable logo for Compadre Beer, designed to flex across a wide range of creative deployment scenarios — from in-bar signage to merchandise and digital assets. The final identity captures the brand’s spirit of inclusivity, sociability, and affordable luxury, creating a strong visual connection to the vibrant atmosphere of Kabin and the wider Kabannas brand. Compadre now has a visual identity built to engage, adapt, and grow with its audience.
